The 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards are scheduled for November 3 at the American Museum of Natural History, where they will be hosted by American triple-threat Tiana Taylor, who can be seen in a battle after a battle of Paul Thomas Anderson and, of course, on the runway of Vogue World: Hollywood. Actors, choreographers, and singers join a list of past hosts that includes Anne Hathaway and Cynthia Arriveau.
In addition to honoring American fashion and cementing its future, one of the most cherished traditions of the event is that, in addition to the famous presenters, who are often no more than actors, supermodels and singers, they invite American designers to be honored. This year, the line-up promises to be a spectacular night filled with both up-and-comers and stalwarts.
Joseph Altuzarra will present the American Womenswear Designer of the Year award alongside actor Leslie Bibb, who recently appeared on the third season of White Lotus. Jennifer Fisher will be joined by resident funny boy Benito Skinner to introduce the American Accessories Designer of the Year Award. Addison Rae and Christopher John Rogers – both Libras hail from Louisiana! Google Google Shopping will introduce the American Emerging Designer of the Year category, and CFDA Chairman Thom Browne will present Ralph Roche with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Founder’s Award honoring Eleanor Lambert will be presented to Cynthia Rowley by Julianne Moore, and Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo will receive the Innovation Award presented by Amazon Fashion from Eva DuVernay. Ariana Debose and Amber Valletta will present the Positive Change Award to Donatella Versace, who is being recognized for her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community, and support of young talent, and Vogue’s Nicole Phelps will present Isabel Toledo’s Board of Directors tribute to fellow New Yorker Andrew Walker. Peter Moliere will receive the International Designer of the Year award from Naomi Campbell.
The nominees and honorees were announced in early September while New York Fashion Week was underway, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America shared that the recipient of the fashion icon recognition will be none other than VogueMay 2025 cover star A$AP Rocky.
The rapper, who is known as the menswear oracle and serves as co-chair of the 2025 Met Gala, has his own label as part of his creative agency. Rocky is also the creative director of Puma and Ray Ban and has designed capsules for Moncler as well as campaigns for labels including Bottega Veneta and Calvin Klein. “A$AP Rocky is a fashion icon in its purest form,” said CFDA Chairman Thom Browne. “She’s one of a kind. Her really original approach to fashion inspires me and a lot of people to think differently.”
