After losing its manual gear box, the golf GTI is not as desired as before. You can argue that internal standards have taken a hit compared to the excellent MK -7. Is not so GRand tOurs INation ever had an interesting design, but the MK 8 probably seems to be very much prevented. Despite all this, at least the VW is trying to keep the car alive in the shrinking class. The gradual transfer of gas -powered hot hats is being accelerated by severe extraction regulations, and especially in Europe through more taxes.
Right now, VW is promising to keep the golf GTI around for a long time. Addressing Noorburging with VW enthusiasts, the Automacker’s boss was asked if the car is still the future of the company’s rapidly power -powered lineup. CEO Thomas Sheffer pledged to sell gas -fired performance in the next decade: “Certainly in the 2030s, snow vehicles still have a strong presence.”
However, his following statement has bothered us: “Perhaps a little lightning.” Perhaps the VW golf plans to give GTI anytime a hybrid setup? It has already happened with the GTE, a plug -in hybrid version that has not been sold in the United States. Even though the two will be merged at some point, we are hoping that the Schfar is referring to a mild hybrid system to minimize the weight fines.
It is also worth noting that the GTE does not have a 2.0 liter engine but has a small 1.5 liter unit, which is made with a 19.4 kW battery -powered electric motor. While the GTE provides 268 HP, GTI offers 320 HPs in new, non -US edition 50. Speaking of prohibited fruits, the United States also loses 296-HP clubs, both of which are regular GTIs like a wheel drive.
Whatever VW plans for the GTI, the Schaear was referring to the current generation model. Wolfsburg has already confirmed the ninth general golf, which will be specially electricity at the end of this decade. Kai Grunz, a member of the board responsible for technological development, strictly advised last year that MK could stay around by 2035, when the European Union plans to ban the sale of new combustion engineers. This would mean that VW Electric will sell two generations of golf for five to six years simultaneously for five to six years before a complete transfer to MK 9.
