Step into the Goodnight Moon Suite at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, and you’ll find green walls, a red carpet, a dollhouse, a glowing fireplace, and, hanging above the mantel, a picture of a cow leaping over the moon, a familiar sight for millions of people who have read the book over the nearly 80 years. Available through February 2026 at the recently renovated Boston Back Bay property, this suite comes with amenities that include themed cookies, a plush “Goodnight Moon” bunny, a keepsake bowl, and a copy of “Goodnight Moon.”
Just as the suite recreates the book’s iconic bedroom down to the tiger-striped carpet, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts’ new campaign, “Good Night Room,” reminds us how we can feel at home when we’re far away. The commercials, which are now shown on TV, streaming channels, social media, and in-flight entertainment, feature an original score, a passenger vignette, and a mother reading “Goodnight Moon” in a hotel room to her child on her time. Anyone who knows the book will notice the clever references woven through the storytelling—two little kittens on the guest’s socks, a floating red balloon, and a little boy in striped pajamas.
“Goodnight Moon is a story that many of us grew up with, and many of us now read to our children,” Peggy Rowe, executive vice president and chief customer officer, Marriott International, said in a press release. “Reimagining it through the lens of the Sheraton felt deeply personal because, at its core, both stories are about familiarity and comfort. Goodnight Room’s film is a tribute to the film’s juxtaposition of nostalgia with the reality of modern travel, where for the moments between meetings we come home to small gestures that make us realize that wherever we are is a beautiful reflection. It’s a beautiful reflection. Connection, and community always have a seat.”
If you’re saving your Marriott Bonvoy points for something special, you’ll want to know that members can bid on an exclusive Marriott Bonvoy moment: a two-night stay in the Goodnight Moon Suite from December 26-28 with experiences that include a moonlit dinner, a stargazing activity, a Mysore display, and a special souvenir gift for the family. Bidding closes on December 1st at 4pm
