Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani has produced three models, the Zonda, Huayra, and Utopia, and an almost unlimited number of special editions, remixes, and updates. Its latest is the Huayra 70 Triunfo, built to celebrate founder Horatio Pagani’s 70th birthday, and, like almost every Pagani, it’s a stunner.
The Huayra 70 Triumph is a new example of a model that first debuted in 2011 and may have ended production in 2017, except that Pagani has built various new Huayras to date, including the Huayra R Evo.
Pagani stated that only three of the 70 Triunfos would be made. The door and window frames are the same as the old Huayra, but everything else is different, resulting in a completely different look. Surprisingly, the front has been changed along with the headlights. As for the rear, Pagani says, “The rear is a celebration of bare mechanics: a redesigned bumper, extractor, and diffuser frame the engineering soul of the car.” According to Motor1, the car appears to be based on the Huayra Roadster BC.

The cockpit “immerses the driver in a symphony of exquisite leather and textures” while the exterior color scheme is a mix of green, orange and yellow. Under the hood is likely a Mercedes 6.0-liter V-12 engine making 791 horsepower, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. That power goes to the rear wheels, though the 70 Triunfo looks so good it’s probably not intended to be driven with passion but rather to show off.
Pagani’s habit of redoing their cars for special occasions, special customers, and sometimes just for fun was an oddity when it started that has now turned into one of the automaker’s most beloved traits. The marque is full of artists who can’t let their masterpieces go untouched and should instead keep changing the model for new audiences. That includes the powertrain, since the Utopia was supposed to be all-electric until it was.
One might suspect that the marque is improving its autos simply because it keeps finding new customers—all of whom probably want to say that their Pagani is one of a kind. As 70 Triunfo suggests, it may have been baked in from scratch.
