If you have a TSA pre -check, there may be a better way to undergo airport safety: touchless id.
Transportation Security Administration offers for this program TSA Pre -Check MemberAllowing the hand -free verification process. The touchless ID program uses facial identification technology to confirm your identity, which eliminates the need to deteriorate your driver’s license at the security checkpoint. You will even have access to a dedicated touchless ID security lane that allows you to cut in front of everyone.

The Pilot program was initially launched in 2021 with Delta Airlines in Detroit, but in recent years it has been significantly expanded, with more airports and airlines, including Alaska Airlines, United Airlines and recent US Airlines in 2025.
The use of a TSA facial identification program can save you a ton of time at airport checkpoints, but you will need to choose.
However, not all airports and airlines participate in the touchless ID program, so it helps to know when and where you are eligible for the program. This is how you can benefit from the TSA Precheck Touch Les ID on your next trip.
Airlines and airports that offer touchless ID
The program currently has 10 co -airports that serve eight major metro areas.
Participant airports
Atlanta: Heartfield-Jaxon Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
Chicago: Chicago and Her International Airport Airport (Order).
Detroit: Detroit Metropolitan Van County Airport (DTW).
Las Vegas: Harry Red International Airport (LAS).
Los Angeles: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
New York City: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Lagardia Airport (LGA), Nevarak Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Salt Lake City: Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).
Washington: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
Flying from the co -airport does not guarantee that you will be able to use a touchless id. You also need to fly to an airline to participate in the program at this particular airport. All security checkpoints either do not offer touchless IDs, so there are examples where the co -airline cannot access the touchless ID, even if its flights depart from the co -airport.
For example, take the EWR, where touchless ID is only available in the terminal C as it is used exclusively by the terminal by United, other co -airlines do not have access to the touchless ID at the airport. If your United Nations flight is departing from Terminal A, you will not even have a walk.
A list of airports is where the touchless id is available depends on which airline you are flying with:

How to select TSA Prechik Touchcel ID
You should be using the touchless ID, you should be a TSA Precheck Member and you have to choose to participate. You can choose to opt for your profile with the airline or when you check online.
You also have to make sure that your information with the airline is the latest, including your famous passenger number and passport details. In this way, the federal government will be able to compete your picture on the day of traveling with other pictures you have provided to the government, such as your passport.

If you are interested in participating in the touchless ID, it is better to set it in your airline profile. For example, on the United app, you can go to the account tab and select “TSA Pre -Check and Travel Documents”. There you will have the option to choose in the touchless ID program.
In my experience, choosing is another task. Now, whenever I check online for qualified travel, I automatically have access to touchless ID.
If you do not already have a TSA pre -check
Many travel credit cards include a statement credit that covers the cost of applying for a reliable traveler program such as TSA Prechiek or Global Entry (including TSA Precheck).
Only for those who travel within the United States only, TSA pre -check membership should be sufficient. However, repeated international flyers will benefit from entering globally, which accelerates clearance process when re -entering the United States.

How to use TSA Prechiek Touchcel ID
You can use the TSA Precheck Touchless ID when you have a mobile boarding pass with a touchless ID indicator. This means that you will need to check the Check Check to participate online or through your airline app.
Although every airline’s mobile boarding pass design is different, you should be able to view touchless ID indicators, which is a green human icon with the TSA Precheck Logo.

As an iPhone user, I find this an easy process because I can store my boarding pass in my digital purse for easy access.
Boarding passes hidden at the airport will not show the touchless ID indicators, even if it appears on your mobile boarding pass.
You will need to show your boarding pass with a signal with an agent on the entrance route of the touchless ID lane. Since the program is relatively new, I have never waited for four or more people in a dedicated lane.

🤓 🤓Nerve tip
Before you go to the touchless ID security lane, double check that the indicator is on your boarding pass. I have instances where it has not been shown for any unknown reasons, which means I have to use the standard TSA preach lane.
Once you turn, the TSA officer will wave you and ask you to stand in a designated place to take your picture.

This is the place where touchless ID and standard TSA preach lines are integrated before the screening area, and I have found that officers generally prefer people who are using touchless id.
You will not need to pass your boarding pass or your physical identity (though you should still have your physical identity as a backup as you need). After your identity is confirmed, the officer will allow you to move forward. It’s really easy.
Is touchless ID worth it?
When it comes to airport security screening, TSA Precheck Touchless ID is really a game changer. This is a free benefit for TSA pre -check members, and in my opinion, this is the fastest way to pass through security checkpoints.
The biggest negative aspect is its limited availability. You need to fly not only from specific airports, but also from specific airlines. If your travel projects are not matching, you are out of your fate. For example, South West Airlines is one of the biggest carriers in the United States – definitely larger than Alaska Airlines – and it does not participate in a touchless ID.
Nevertheless, the program is easy and capable of choosing. However, security lines can be unexpected, and you will never know when you can identify your travel day without touching your heart.
However, it is also good that other options are available. I have a toll Clear+®Which uses biometric technology to accelerate the identity verification process. The program is not free, but some premium travel cards include a statement credit that covers the annual membership cost.
Although I have found the Tought Touch Lace ID to get faster, there are clear lanes dedicated to more than 55 airports, making it a more useful option for many travelers.
