Where to Go Next? Try a Second City

There may be a big appeal in big cities – but they are not just able to see.

The term “other cities” traditionally refers to the second largest city in a region, but it usually describes other populations but often neglected urban centers that provide most of the works of major metropolies.

Clearly, these are not small cities away from the highway. Other cities have the charisma of cultural wealth, pure chips and famous metropolies, but usually with less crowds and sometimes with low prices. They are able to include you in your itinerary, or even plan for a full journey.

Other cities offer the best in both worlds when you are looking for a destination, but slightly less than tourists.

Here’s what makes them charming:

• Less chaos: With fewer tourists and low traffic, other cities often feel less pressure than their stirring counterparts. For a comfortable journey, this can be exactly what you are looking for.

• Possibly your friends were not there yet: By visiting another city, you will be able to experience the culture, food and history of a particular region outside the usual tourist checklist. And because of this, your journey can be more memorable.

• Easy transportation: In many other cities, you can occasionally walk or rely on the riders. This saves rental cars, gas and parking fees.

• Free or cheap things to do: Like their big counterparts, other cities often pack in cultural institutions, natural parks, historical sites and local entertainment.

We have compiled some other cities that build excellent holiday destinations. This is not a formal rating or a complete list – just some of our favorite places.

Only three hours away from Houston-Taxas, the largest city of Texas and one of the major business hub-San San Antonio, offers a visiting experience, with attractive places, low prices and historical charm.

In addition, many of the high attractions of San Antonio are either free or cheap. You can find most famous alumu without any price, walking the San Antonio River walk (one of the country’s most charming pedestrians), or walking into a Japanese tea garden – all this without spending money.

More than two hours from Manhattan from bus or train, Atlantic City declares the same citizen: heading concerts, high -end food, shop purchase and even an emerging art scene. But where New York orders premium prices at every turn, Atlantic City still offers hotel rooms under $ 100.

Chicago is the second city, which earned alias in the 1890s when it became the second largest city in the United States behind New York. (Now this is the third, behind Los Angeles.) But if you are looking for another great destination near Chicago, Madison is worth the tour. Pedal around the Lexide Trails, Dan County Walking in the farmers’ market, then opening a few steps away from the Capital Dome at the Brewery or Cake Launch.

The flag staff’s neon symbols, retro dinner and the historic route 66 highway make it a memorable road trip floor. Nature -lovers can cool down under the pines and find volcanic caves in this lying mountain city.
