I have diveled some beautiful dark sites in several Caribbean islands. Martin, Dominica, St. Lucia, and Croat, to say some names. But of all my experiences, one destination my book: The Dutch Caribbean Island has reached the upper part of the Buner.
24 miles long and seven miles wide, Buner is small. But its home is a huge fringe reef (a type of reef that grows directly on the island coast), which supports healthy, promoted maritime ecosystem and 87 sinking sites. Boner National Marine ParkEstablished in 1979, protects the surrounding waters and is one of the oldest maritime reserves in the world. This is an essential destination for many scuba divers.
Boner’s Westerley, on the Leverse side, strong wind and water conditions offer more conducive divers conditions. There is a wire of more than 60 consecutive divers sites off the west coast of the central island, as well as two dozen more sites around the small, uninhabited island of Klein Buner. He said, mostly accessible to the coast. In fact, the shops often use trucks – not boats to go to them. Many sites are easily marked by yellow stones that occur at a distance of the coast.

One of the most famous sites on Buner is the salt pier, which is actively used by the island’s sea salt industry. Massive pillars have formed underwater artificial vertical rocks, and diving here almost feels like entering the world of almost science fiction, which opens with a stranger with the formation of trees and coral development. I saw a variety of critics under the pier: Tarni fish, trigger fish, drum masses, sticks and isolated tarpapers, free swimming green murray eels, marine turtles and more.
For night diving, move towards something special, which is known for its sandy down and the abundance of fish, thanks to close proximity to nearby marijuana. It is a car capable by car. Another famous site, Bon Bonnie Na Kas (which means “Welcome Home” in Pepmina), is a home of colorful fish, such as Croavill Verus and Blue Tengs, which float between Stagorn Coral Colonies and Lavender Stove sponge. There is also a large 236 -foot -tall -famous debris site site ShakingA former drug -picked cargo ship that was submerged by port authorities in 1984 to create a multi -targeted artificial reef.
It doesn’t matter what kind of divers you are experiencing, Buner has options in speeds. It is worth several visits. Even after you crossed your Caribbean island Scuba Bucket List.
