Slate revealed his bare bones cheap electric truck last night. This is an interesting vehicle, capable of turning people into a small five -seat SUV to stop people instead of cargo. Reviewing joint comments during our first current series, we suspect that many potential slate consumers are interested in large -scale cargo.
This brings us as a work horse to the truck’s everlasting step. Can Slate Plywood go 4 feet distance from an 8 -foot sheet? The easy answer is yes. But there is something else.

During Slate EV’s first film, the company said the bed would have a “full sheet of plywood”. This is a standard 4×8 sheet, and with maximum pay load capacity with £ 1,433, the truck can have a lot more. The minimum bed width is 50.0 inches, which is enough to adjust the 4 -foot (48 inches) wide piece of wood, so that the checkout is.
This is a place where things are slightly complicated. The bed length is five feet on the nose. It is 60 inches, well less than a standard piece of plywood. So you won’t apply it with a tail gate without all kinds of hongs. Leave the gate and the bed floor extends to 81.6 inches, which is equivalent to 6.8 feet. It is not too long to fully support a large sheet of plywood, but this is not a big deal. Most entire size trucks do not have a full bed of 8 feet anymore, so a foot of overhang is very normal for plywood or long 2x4s these days. Apply a flag on the back, strap it all, and you should be good.
However, we do not believe how these large pieces of plywood help them in bed. The distance between the wells of the wheel is only 42.9 inches. This is not enough to sit on the plywood flat, so it will have to sit on the wells of the wheel. The upper parts of the well look flat, which is good to keep the panels stable. But they are not very wide, most of the sheet leaves unmanned. More thick plywood sheets do not matter much, but the quarter -inch plywood is flexible. And a thin 4×8 paneling can also be sketched.

Ford has a similar setup on the murder, which has a slight bed in reality than the slate. However, the wheels of the maracing are long, wide and close to the bed. Ford also has signs to add support beams across the bed. From what we see in the configure, the slate does not have the same support.
Still, there is the ability. And since this truck is electric, there is a bit more storage in front of it. If the DIY project is occupied by the weekend on the bed, you can still take 12 packs in the front.
Before we can examine the cargo capabilities of this truck. The slate is expected to start at the end of 2026. But deciding according to the numbers, its size should be quite worthy of it.
